Trio for Flute, Cello and Piano 1st movement
A piece by Bohemian Czech composer named Bohuslav Martinu(1890-1959). Expelled in Prague Conservatoire at the age of 20 and thereafter led a peripatetic life first in Paris, Then in exile in the USA during the Second World War, and finally in Switzerland- the communist took over Czechoslovakia meant he can never return.
The trio dates from 1944 and belong to his period of exile in America. it is typical of the composer's brisk colorful musical style with three movements.
