heres the first mix down of the "sharmanka" riddim.

in this basic cut, the bassline mirrors the violin melody exactly - to drill the melody inna ur head - and mainly because it turned out to be the best recording.

ill put another cut up on youtube later this week with a more finessed fuller bassline and a reformed part of the rhythm section to get the correct bounce.

a very versatile melody line, baggariddim made made from this one.

all i can say is this: thank god the cold war is over, and the west can get to hear some of these magical musical traditions now!
