Wisconsin Vietnam veteran Daniel Pierce discusses his experiences in Vietnam, his lasting emotional connection to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. and the soldiers whose names are etched upon it.

During the past few years, WPT has been an innovative leader in public television as it has told the stories of Wisconsin soldiers through the groundbreaking and award-winning Wisconsin World War II Stories and Wisconsin Korean War Stories projects.

The next installment in this series will be a sweeping look at the experiences and impact of the Vietnam War on Wisconsin soldiers and civilians with Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories. The project will air in WPT in 2010.

As a special Web exclusive, Be more Tuned In is proud to present another exclusive sneak preview of some of the show's interviews. To learn more about Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories, visit WisconsinStories.org.

Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories is being produced as a partnership of the Wisconsin Historical Society and WPT, in association with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.

  • Good for you man. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes not too long ago, and if I was drafted in you time, I would have fought with the best of them but...Turned into some kind of war addicted demon and I wouldn't have came home. I know this is nothing, but...Thank you. Next time you're in New York City, PM me, a young horrified patriot welcomes you.

  • @Rushfan32935 There will always be war.

  • Earlier this school year, some marines came to my school and had my peirs play call of duty with them. I COULN'T BELIEVE IT! That is NOT what war is like! There are no respawns, no second tries, I'm posting this on my facebook to show them what happens to people who go to war so they can really decide if they are ready to go. Thank you so much for this!
