I also tend to like all their stuff, except for ASOP, the only In Flames album I genuinely dislike.

@Saturos007 I didn't discover in flames until 2008 and I still think their new stuff sucks compared to the old stuff.

Lunar Strain, The Jester Race and Whoracle will always be the best (and dont forget the Subterranean EP, its awesome!) but I have to admit, you can hear some of the old qualities from this stuff in some of the newer stuff. The newer stuff is very hit and miss, I think Come Clarity and Deliver Us are good tracks, with some really great melodic solos from Bjorn Gelotte but stuff like My Sweet Shadow and Take this life I think is pure shit. anyway, thats my two cents on it

@Saturos007 True indeed. It's always a mistake once we start saying "they need to return to their roots and play music that's meaningful", for any band (even Metallica; that was a bitter thing to admit lawls). Hate to break it to you, but they don't. You have no say, no matter how much you object. They play the music they want to play and that's that. Doesn't matter if you're a fan, it won't happen. All you can do is either appreciate what they have to offer or stay deaf to it.

All this criticism of In Flames adopting a new sound has less to do with the music and more to do with veteran fan's egotistical insistence that only THEY have a right to appreciate the band and dictate which music is "good" and "bad". Get over yourselves.
