3 part series marking the ten-year anniversary of the war in Afghanistan, telling the story of the conflict through the words and pictures of the young soldiers themselves

Episode 2 - The Invisible Enemy The plight of the first troops sent to Afghanistan's Helmand Province in 2006, focusing on how, three years later, improvised explosive devices had changed the war. Captain Alex Rawlins films his men from 1st Battalion, the Grenadier Guards, and captures events surrounding the loss of Private Jamie Janes, who stood on a landmine during a patrol. The programme shows how the 23-year-old guardsman's death became a turning point in the British public's awareness of the human cost of IEDs. Narrated by Shaun Dooley.

  • Guardsman Perry Jeffs is a great man, Dagenham lads forever

  • @AdamBaricevic I know this is a self-contradiction but I can't help myself I just have to say it, what a pointless comment you've made, all its achieved is making you look like a complete douche like the uploader stated. Get a life.

This documentary is pretty good although not fully revealing, I think its important that civilians can see what the forces endure for their country.

  • @AdamBaricevic Wow... How does it feel being a total douchebag?

  • The IED thread was a direct result of the NATO bombing campaign the years before. Thus, the brave British infantry had to pay for the stupid bomb drops ordered by generals and politicians. The pilots? Yes, they sit safe and cosy.

  • Ppl start dancin.

  • how long will it take until someones offended by the posters at 00:13 and this will be banned from youtube?

  • Thumbs up if you paused for the moral board
