@AmtrakFanNEC927 oh i read somewhere that was because of the grade crossings. i guess who ever wrote that was wrong.

@romanstransitpage its simply a design feature crossings have nothing to do with it.

@logo47 Strobe Lights, the AEM-7s have strobe lights because of grade crossings in Connecticut.

Eurostar has been above 200MPH here in the UK so its not 140MPH on High speed one the normal top speed is 186MPH

@AmtrakFanNEC927 actually i saw the diagram in trains magazine, and from Old Saybrook to New Haven southbound, its between 115 and 125 and northbound is 110 to 115
