When I was a kid, the game wasn't that bad. The music was alright but the gameplay was a pain. I say it doesn't suck but it's just a mixed bag.

It's funny to think back on the fact that back in the day all of us who became hardcore vg devotees in the late 80's to beginning 90's actually willingly paid 50 bucks for crap like this. lol

I'm surprised that the player didn't press select in the title screen to change the difficulty, it determines the ending (normal is best). Then again, on hard the computer just cheap, making certain moves like throwing and punching useless. The fights tend to become a jump kick fest.

The reason why this game is so difficult are the delayed reactions and long move animations. The weirdest part is that it was like that in the show this game is based on. The first time you see it, it looks dumb.

I had this game when I was younger, and I enjoyed it. I thought it controlled rather well for a Godzilla-type game.

The short time limit was part of the show's storyline - "Because of Earth's polluted atmosphere, Ultraman can only maintain his gigantic form for 3 minutes."
