As Reality TV shows continue to dominate the schedules, a Russian version of 'Big Brother' is causing a huge controversy.

Blindfolded and led onto a plane, 12 contestants are dumped in a house in Berlin. Deprived of food or money, they must use their initiative to survive. Yet they don't even know which country they are in. With no prospect of food, the contestants are reduced to begging or stripping in seedy clubs. The producers claim it's a useful social experiment depicting the migrant experience. But outraged German politicians have called for the programme to be banned. "It is absolutely terrible and disgusting," complains politician Heidemarie Fischer. And inside the house the pressure quickly becomes too much. "You take our souls and torture us," cries one tearful contestant. But it seems that the public has a taste for torture and the show is a big hit.

  • There's a reason why Russia is the first country to try this....

  • Using starvation as entertainment? Might as well have taken a camera to parts of Africa, asia or homeless shelters. Oh...I have a better idea...why not a domestic violence shelter. HaHa...hilarious. (sarcastic of course) This was a show created in very poor taste.

  • interesting...

  • That's russia for you.

  • @badvegan

    In America, you eat food.

    In Russia, food eat you.

  • @robi2000 I'm sure they thought it was a joke or someone trying to con them and/or rob them.

  • I'll tell you why it "didn't work". The kind of people who volunteer to be on this kind of show aren't exactly the same kind of people who think about others and form into good teams. Their personalities didn't predispose them to helping others, they just wanted to have their own needs taken care of. Suffer for a short time then get paid to not work for the rest of your life? Sweet deal. Helping others? What is that?

  • I'm surprised the Americans did not offer them food. Must have thought it was a joke. But we should do this on a massive scale in the US cause too many fat fuckers need to stop eating so much.

  • hunger is fun :)

  • KISS MY ASS GOOGLE. Keep your marketing OFF YOUTUBE!!! Screw yall! Yahoo is better

  • I just look like a homeless person. I'ts an evolutionary advantage.
