  • This video actually took away some of my knowledge.

  • what kind of drum key are you using and where can i get one like that b/c i lost mine

  • That's not the star pattern...

  • Sounds like a giant woodpecker in the redwood national forest.

  • omg I hate expert village. I would't have clicked this video if I knew it was e.v. They are great at showing you what not to do.

  • not really, feel give off the articulation and expression you need to play

  • you will warp the shell like that, if you put in a star pattern the tension will be balance and lessen the warping

  • He is a liar. It doesn't have to "feel good". If you're in a drumline you can suck it up and play with it no matter how it feels. Anyway, this is probably the only video of his that is remotely accurate. You do want to tune it in a star pattern, but make sure you're turning the drum key the same distance each time. You don't want to tighten one side really tight and then the other not-so-tight, because then you've warped the rim and using the star pattern did nothing.

  • Because tuning in a star pattern guarantees the best and most accurate tuning. Tuning around a drum can warp the rim of the drum and the rim of the head.

  • cuz the head will brake
