  • what would you suggest if you are emerging from a minor road up a steep hill to a major road which has parked cars along it? It is not possible to see traffic in the left hand lane until you have emerged from the minor road into the right hand lane of the major road. Bearing in mind, this turning is right next to the test centre, so will have been used in every test. Is it ok to move into the right lane of themajor road if you are unsure about oncoming traffic in the left lane in that situation?

  • @domclarke92 I'll try and make a video to answer the question. Don't forget I have many more tips and advice on my website, check my profile for the URL.

  • good vid but what if both sides of the main road are clear but a pedestrian begins to cross the road? are you allowed to stop then or would that still be classed as a fail?

  • @KidDynamite40 Your checks need to include pedestrians as well, so if someone walks into the road, you need to assess if it will be safe for you to slowly emerge, allow them to cross without you slowing down other cars or make the pedestrian feel like you are about to run them down.

  • loool u put the driver under immense pressure i would probably crash if the person sitting next 2 me was doing that loosen up ur over anxiousness is having a domino effect on the driver let them learn from their own mistakes a little more u cant give a lecture everytime happen

  • My instructor gets me to creep forward when we wait for too long, as opposed to waiting ages for the major road to be completely clear. Is this advised?

  • nobody canna cross it! (de white line ;) )

  • Loads of people here are saying that this instructor needs to relax and that it's a bad instructor. He's just a perfectionist and doing his job, but he exaggerates so it gets to your head.

  • (1) Crossing the centre white line:

If you watch where the white line is on the windscreen you'll see the student DID NOT cross the white line when the white van was coming(as stated during the debrief).

He did get a little close to the cyclist.

    (2) These faults are so easy to prevent with Q&A, e.g. What if the cyclist falls over? &

The position for turning right is? (students answers 'just left of centre', They know the answer because they've been asked on every right turn! (ADI should have)
