No, it's not NEEDED, an actual snow tire would help with the low grip though, unless that was straight ice,..

Also, a couple of sandbags in the rear helps bring it around too! I mean, stay safe in the snow!

Cool vid. I got a white '95 Subaru Legacy wagon similar to yours (but not lowered). I love drifting that bitch in the snow. AWD kicks ass!
