  • @entertainme3000 I am inclined to agree... it could have come back at least as a replacement series to tie up loose ends (It was still pulling in top 20 ratings before its move to Tuesdays in January 1985... it would have been far more successful than ANY of the sitcoms that they debuted that season (It would have been a great pairing with Charlie and Company)... who knows, perhaps it would have stretched beyond 1986... but then we probably wouldn't have had 227 or Amen... :)

  • @landrykkb yeah but still it could've always lasted longer and why did she have to find out that way?

  • @giantsfan711 he retired in the late 80s and died in 1990

  • @corrupt200 I dunno man, it's a mystery

  • I see the grey getting into Bob's hair.

  • Do you have any cbs newsbreaks with douglas edwards or from 1990-91?

  • 1:30 Radio Psycholgist??? how come Frasier succeeded and this show didn't?

  • Seems odd that the stars of the show would hear about the cancellation second hand, and after the last show had been taped. The Jeffersons has got to be one of the longest running prime time shows not to have a goodbye episodes. Ran for 11 seasons(January 1975-May 1985). Its ending left Norman Lear without a show on the air for the first time in 14 years.

  • @zachhoran Isabel Sanford said herself that a relative had told her about the Jeffersons' cancellation from reading about it and she had absolutely no idea either. It had run its course anyway and it had been on the air 10 years.

  • June 4,1985 "The Lucie Arnaz Show", "The Jeffersons" [both new episodes], CBS Tuesday Movie 1981 Repeat. You're right, it wasn't that long before "The Jeffersons" was canceled at that time.
