Watching a smartphone fall to the ground is painful even when you aren't the owner, but watching a smartphone slide, tumble and fall on the ground is entertaining when it's protected by an OtterBox. Watch what happens to Brian's iPhone 4 protected by the OtterBox Defender Series when he makes his ascent up a rock face that sends the phone tumbling down onto the rocks below.

  • how many iphones did you go through trying to film this?

  • @CWSDevon Actually, just the one device.

  • will the silicone that wraps around the defender get stretched out after taking the case on and off after a while?

  • @SkidKid106 Every situation is unique, but if you do end up having any problems, we have a great warranty!

  • I just got a iphone 4s about 5 days ago. I woke up this morning and it was on the floor beside the bed which means i must have fallen asleep with it and then either knocked it off or dropped pushed it off the bed. I have a defender case on it. My bed is on the floor, so the drop was about knee high, about 19". Seems to be working fine. Any need for concern of possible internal damage?

  • @zowenso You should be good to go. If you are concerned you can always reach out to your local Apple store.

  • I Wonder how is he going to use the touchscreen with that dirty hand....

  • @scant1991 Sorry to hear that. While we do protect against most drops, we unfortunately can't control every situation. Sorry again.

  • Too bad the truth won't get out about how these cases don't quite hold up as well as you make them sound.

  • My week old iPhone fell out of my pocket while climbing. The defender case didn't do anything. Phone blew into two pieces. Not satisfied at all.
