  • @TheAbabeed can't forget women FF too

  • @Ksouder88 Actually more then half the fire fighters in the United States are Volunteer, meaning we do it because we want to, not because we're getting paid for it. Sure there are some paid departments but they will never get rich from being a fire fighter.....Proud Female Volunteer Firefighter!

  • please look at the video on my channel. my fire department desperately needs a remodel. we have made it to the final five in the country for a remodel contest. please look at my video and vote for sheridan fire district.

  • @heartagramchick94 The actual statistic is somewhere around 80% of all departments in the US are volunteer.

  • @firecop730 Thank you for the inspiration!

  • if its sooo rough, stop volunteering, you are taking union jobs away, you friggin ticks!

  • @heartagramchick94 im just starting as a jr and love it went to my first fire on christmas and it was awsome seeing the joy in tthe homeowners face when we got the fire knocked down so he kept his house but i constently get shit on at school becasue they do not understand whatvthis job is or what ts like.............best job in the world

  • @PAULA4181 Some Vol. FF's can leave work others can not and have to respond when they are free and hope enough people show up. My car is equipped with emergency lights and siren. I respond from where ever I am when the call goes out.

  • @zeangia I am 70 years old, a retired pharmacist and a Vol FF for 35 years. To newbies: stick with it. Alot of times you'll hear how slow you was, how you didn't attack the fire right, etc, etc. But, every now and then, some one will tell you they appreciate what you do or a young kid will come to you wanting to be a FF when they grow up and that makes every thing worth it. To me, I don't care if you are paid or not but if you train and work and do your best you are a pro

  • Just became a junior the other night. Feels good to be a part of something so good!

  • As a volunteer firefighter and EMT of 7.5 years this video makes me proud to do what i do. In the 7.5 years of firefighting i have seen most all types of calls from the routine alarm to the propane distribution company fire. The experience i have gained as a volly has made me a better person and i would never trade it for anything. It bothers me to see big cities cutting fire depts out of there budgets because it can kill peoples lives who may have been save. thanks for the video

  • @PAULA4181 A volunteer responds when he is available to respond. Some states allow the volunteer to leave work without fear of being terminated. So volunteer firefighters have a regular job and this is just because they want to do this not because they are hired to do it for free. They do it because they want to give back to their communities. I am a volunteer Firefighter myself. I hope that helps.
