That's Neil Innes doing the opening song. He did a lot of music for Monty Python. An original member of Bonzo Dog Band.

Its been a while, but I think the male singer was Geoff Muldaur and the female, Kate Bush.
Great film -- Great soundtrack.

Does anyone know who sings the version of the song "Aquarela do Brasil" during the first 30 seconds of the clip?

This is my favorite opening scene of all time! And it should be seen right after watching the last scene of "Time Bandits." Perfect bookends.

Thanks! But I have a lot of Brazil material. I recommend you the book "The Battle of Brazil: Terry Gilliam v. Universal Pictures in the Fight to the Final Cut (The Applause Screenplay Series) by Jack Mathews" and the Dvd's pack: " The Criterion Collection - Brazil - The Production Notebook - What Is Brazil? - The Battle of Brazil: A Video History" Enjoi it! Regards from Spain!
