Beautiful!! Love how it starts w/ Middle Eastern music and ends up where it does, showing the intersection of at least 3 musical cultures. And love the "spontaneous cutoff", w/ each musician finishing up what he had to do. You can tell that the audience hated to see it go away. Glad it came back later!!

The beginnig of his piece has distinguishing characteristics of Middle Eastern music. The music of the the Middle East is very complex in rhythmic structures, and a homophonic textures. Even the backdrop had a very Morrocan feel with the Italian architecture.Arabic music scales consists of 17, 19 or 24 notes in a single octave. Rhythm in Middle Eastern music is very complicated but must be memorized by the musicians. I liked the complexity of the piece. Nice homage to Igor S!
