We made this video for a class project at McMaster University in fall of 2008. It is a short documentary on the 5 days for the homeless campaign.
The 2008 campaign raised over $8000 at McMaster and $127000 Canada-wide.
About 5 days:
During these five days students from across the country will be making personal sacrifices to make their community a better place. The rules around the campaign are fairly simple. The participants will:
* Remain on campus from 5:00 pm Sunday March 9th, 2008 until 5:00 pm Friday March 14th, 2008.
* Have no disposable income.
* Have no access to food or drinks. The food they consume can only be received from donations.
* Have no access to the showers that their student access card would normally get them into.
* Sleep outside and not in a university building. The only exception is if temperatures are so low that their health is at risk.
* Attend all of their regular classes and complete all of their academic responsibilities, including student organizations and teaching positions.
It is a nation wide campaign held by the business societies of different universities. For more information see www.5days.ca
Let us know what you thought of the film :)

Leah, this is awesome. It's weird, that was one of my initial idea for the video project!! Good thing, we pick something else...lol

After being a participant, I think this video has captured the experience very well. Great job to everyone who helped make this possible.
