all because of a bus, it kicked off when group were trying to get... on the bus and a big crowed hoped on the bus, some payed, others were pushed on, the prick of a bus driver got the garda involved and the came and got everybody off the bus while not returning the bus fare to people who already payed with tickets as proof, the garda went crazy and took out theyre spring bats and hitting any body in the vicinity.. The summer sun of recent days can certainly make people go a little crazy, none more so than in the case of a Garda riot van showing up this past Friday in Portmarnock.

In a clip posted to YouTube yesterday under the title '25/5/12 Portmarnock riots', Gardai and eventually a riot van are called in to defuse a situation that appears to have arisen after two gangs of teenagers began disputing who would get on a bus first.

The footage, which we've featured above, is admittedly quite unclear (the uploader getting distracted by a girl's arse at the 2.40 mark doesn't help...) but features Gardai standing between two sections of teens and attempting to separate each group from the other.

As one youth quips "all this for one bus...", a Garda member warns the group: "There will be riot police here in five minutes. Anyone that's here will be in the back of a riot van."

Sure enough, five minutes later sirens signify the arrival of the riot police van, which causes the uploader and friends to step away from the situation and as luck would have, find a bus just a short walk away.

Though we'd beg to differ with the title's claim that the situation was a 'riot', it's an interesting watch nonetheless and we're interested in hearing a bit more information on how exactly the incident quickly got so heated. For now, you can take a look at the footage above.
