Hey myles, I have discovered that shortcut as well in the past and did a flap with it..

my way of doing it is faster though, and doesn't need a star.. You might want to check out my mk64 video on my channel to see how its done (its a boring vid but somewhere in the middle is the shortcut)

Ok this is what i think happend. Yoshi used a mushroom to hit star bowser so he goes through the room and ends up at the top. bowser has a star so the mushroom dosent push him and yoshi goes farther hitting a star person.
