Yahudi is a 1958 Bollywood film directed by Bimal Roy.
It starred Dilip Kumar, Meena Kumari, Kamala Lakshman [Dancer], Sohrab Modi, Nasir Hussain, Nigar Sultana and others.
Music is by Shankar Jaikishan.

Film's lyricist, Shailendra won the Filmfare Awards award for best lyricist in 1959, for the song, Yeh Mera Deewanapan sung by Mukesh.

The story revolves around the life a foster relationship. Set in the era of the Roman Empire over 2000 years ago, it centres around the point of persecution of Jews at the time in the empires centre - Rome!

Lata Mangeshkar (Marathi: लता मंगेशकर; born September 28, 1929) is a singer from India. She is one of the best-known playback singers in the Hindi film industry. Mangeshkar's career started in 1942 and has spanned over six and a half decades. She sang in over a thousand Bollywood movies and has sung songs in over twenty regional Indian languages, but primarily in Hindi. She is the elder sister of the equally accomplished singer Asha Bhosle and lesser-known singers, brother Hridayanath Mangeshkar and sisters Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Mangeshkar. Lata is the second vocalist ever to have received the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.

Mangeshkar was featured in the Guinness Book of World Records from 1974 to 1991 for having made the most recordings in the world.

Awards and recognitions;

Lata Mangeshkar has won several awards and honors, including Padma Bhushan (1969), Padma Vibhushan (1999), Dada Saheb Phalke Award (1989), NTR National Award (1999), Bharat Ratna (2001), three National Film Awards, and 12 Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards. She has also won four Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards. In 1969, she made the unusual gesture of giving up the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award, in order to promote fresh talent. She was later awarded Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993.

In 1984, the State Government of Madhya Pradesh instituted the Lata Mangeshkar Award in honor of Lata Mangeshkar. The State Government of Maharashtra also instituted a Lata Mangeshkar Award in 1992.

Filmfare Awards

The Filmfare Awards for playback singing first started in 1958. In 1956, the song 'Rasik Balma' from the film Chori Chori won the Best Song Filmfare Award. Lata refused to sing it live in protest of absence of a Playback Singer category. The category was finally introduced in 1958. Though, separate awards for male & female singers were introduced later on.

Lata Mangeshkar monopolized the best female playback singer award from 1958 to 1966. In 1969, Lata made the unusual gesture of giving up Filmfare awards in order to promote fresh talent...........

Youan ji, when i was about 10 years old, Chand Ushmani of ''Naya Daur'' ''Bap re Baap'' fame used to come every evening in her black colour car at Marine Drive in Mumbai ''Bombay'' and we all kids used to run to meet her. Kamla Lakshman married Famous Cartoonist Mr. Lakshma ji whose cartoons on Political subjects used to come on ''Times of India'' daily News Paper'' Kamla also danced in ''Kathputali'' on Lata ji's song ''Haye Tuhi gaya Mohe Bhool Re, Main hoon Tere jeewan ki Ra...gini..'' She paired with actor Aaga in some films.Love. Didi.
