This funny song teaches places in the neighborhood with a funny joke in the chorus. Students who already know "The House Song" will recognize the phrases and melody. It's good for helping students ask and answer "Where is he/she?" and "What is he/she doing?" in full sentences. Plus it teaches a lot of new vocabulary.

  • I cannot stop listening it with my children! But I think the song could say shop instead of store

  • Our program teaches "American English" so we chose "Store" over "Shop" - Likewise, we spell "color" and "favorite" this way instead of the British "colour" and "favourite".

Oh and I forgot the biggest difference - the letter Z is pronounced American-style "Zee" rather than "Zed"

Maybe we should make a British version?

    We've had several requests.

  • I can tell this guy is a big Neil Diamond fan. :o)

  • Interesting.

  • @wearebusybeavers There is not that much difference between American English and British English actually. My children here in Germany learn British English. I let them choose what they like, making it clear that both types (pronunciation and spelling) exist. This way they know. They seem to like the British accent "Zed" which I actually find funny being American myself.Maybe both version would be great but it is always hard to find American songs! Keep up the good work!
