This is when jazz was really a people's music, expressing their everyday life with its joys and sorrows. Don't get me wrong, I love Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk and so many other giants. But jazz may have somehow lost its touch with the rest of us mere mortals. Worse yet, it may have been prostituted by Kenny G and the like who claim to be jazz musicians...
