  • does the very beginning remind anyone else of the rite of spring? or is it just me? lol

  • @ViolaClarinetti158 More or less. It reminds me of some sections of "Dance of the Earth". There is something similar after few minutes of the first movement of Bartók's Piano Concerto n°1. Check it! ^^

  • this is a great performance!

Do you happen to know who is playing/conducting?

  • @wagnerhero Myung-Whun Chung with Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

  • Great performance of the piece. I am uneducated on this piece, but was it originally for symphony orchestra? I

  • @PLYC4EVER252 Yes. This is the suite from the musical.

  • The photo at 23rd & Broadway is the Flat Iron Building in Chelsea. Times Square where the ballet takes place is at 42nd & Broadway. Both buildings come out to a peak however. Both areas of the City still swing.

  • This orchestra plays movie score music. It played music from the original "The Unforgiven" music and album composed by Dimiti Tiomkin.

I especially love the "Lonely Town" portion of this music. There is a motif in this piece that has been used by in radio station IDs.

  • I'm playing this in All-State orchestra. I'm so excited!

  • times square is just a work of art :)

  • So lovely, just the way I remember it.
