One Last Penny

My final interview with Michael "Quarter Mike" Winterhalter, a local houseless activist and unrelenting critic of the political/media establishment. He died this last week in Arcata. Rest in peace, my friend.

This interview was filmed last winter walking up H St. just off the Arcata Plaza, where Quarter Mike was as strident as ever in his opposition to the "musical chairs" political games of Wes Chesbro and the Democrat establishment.

I wouldn't mix Nader and Hill in the same paragraph either. Hill really is all talk, whereas Nader has a laundry list of major accomplishments which have saved thousands of lives.

I found this video intersting, for the fact that you, as The Interviewer, had a very positive attitude, where as, this oder guy (RIP). seemed to have a defeatist attitude- wonder if it contributed to his death?

I'm not usually characterized as endlessly upbeat, but yeah, he was quite a cynic.

As far as what contributed to his death, I'd wager the lack of appropriate health coverage played a factor.

I can certainly understand that motivation, as it was my own many years ago. You're welcome to pay a visit and see for yourself -- I recommend these winter months so you'll know how much rain you'd be in for.

He may have had a family, but he never spoke of them to me or anyone I know. He claimed he worked for the government in some capacity long ago, perhaps his FBI file will be declassified now that he can't testify against them.
