It has proven DIFFICULT to keep it to one
minute! I edited out 27 minutes of ranting.
:P

The bottom line:
I wish people would stop responding to things they aren't educated on using God as a retort. When in reality, compared to Suzy (Sal) who lives down the street who's transitioning (FTM) ... God is MUCH more of taboo than him. GOODNESS.

Thoughts?
Have a lovely evening.

  • well the Bible does specify that God is a He. Even if you go back to the greek text, it says He. If you believe that the Bible is an infalible document, then i think it's pretty clear that God is a He. Also when it says that "we are made in His image" that doesn't mean "physical image" it means that we are the only living creatures that have a soul. We are made in His image in that respect.

  • God's "official" name is YHWH (Yahweh). It wasn't used often in the text because it was considered blaspheming.

It means I AM that I AM, in Hebrew. But Hebrew.... is not English. When it says "AM". It fucking means... AM. ALL THINGS: Omni-

As the Tetragrammaton has been studied for many, many years it is to be believed that "YHWH" means El, the father god; Asherah, the mother god; Yehoshua (Joshua/Jesus), the son god; and Anath, the daughter god.

    Short version.

    :)

  • @MissyMoment rawr...i didn't mean to offend. That's just what i believe...

  • BrotherhoodofNavada:

You didn't offend me at all, friend.

I'm glad you said what you said. It's what I used to believe before I became an atheist. And then a Christian again. And then an atheist...

    Etc.

I'm always striving for new knowledge. I'm not okay with just... blindly following something. It's an everyday struggle. Take what I say with a grain of salt. They're just opinions in The Now. I change often.

Being a skeptic and extremist are

    not my most redeeming qualities.

    :)

  • i believe in smores over a camp fire

  • Bee, I believe in you coming over to my place.

    ;)

  • You could make the videos 2 minutes long. I would like that.

  • I think mostly people believe what they're told SO if they're told that God looks a certain way that's what they will imagine him/her/it looking like without giving it any more thought. Staring at your wall and just letting yourself think/question God (or everything you know) is an excellent idea - something people should do more often.

I honestly wouldn't mind hearing the rest of the 27 minutes of this rant!

  • GOD IS A HE

BUT WHAT THE HELL ARE WE

  • @BrotherhoodofNavada

Sorry but I don't think God is a male or female. Think about it, the bible is physically written by men who

claim to have been told what to write. And men are not about to say that God is a woman or a non-gendered entity.

The men who wrote the bible kept God as just that, a man. It gives the illusion that MEN have power, since God and Men are the same thing, according to this sexist version of the bible. God is both Male and female, yet neither at the same time.

  • God's word states that he is male. God looks like heaven and love. I'm very lucky to serve an AWESOME God. You might as well keep these thoughts to your self, because there is an army of people that SERVE God. They'll put you in your place. I'll pray for you. I hope that you find your faith in God. If not, I feel very bad for you.

  • Faith is the answer, in all it's vagueness. I do serve a God who looks like love. A pure righteous love that NO man or woman or human can give. Experiencing it is what makes you know. The gender of God is non-existent. Gods identity is love, with a holy face, and hands pouring with grace, (that sounds like cheesy lyrics) but it's true. Wasting breath debating the gender of God is like discussing that blue sky...in the end does it matter? It's still there and it's beautiful.

  • That's a good reply. I've been through the same pattern...almost. Never as far as atheism but...almost. I'm fully a believer now and what got me to that point was realizing that God is neither man nor woman, when "made in his likeness" doesn't mean penis or vagina it means in spirit. Nothing about religion screams "answers!" if anything it screams "confusion!" until we discover faith. A child like faith as Christ described it. Children don't ask why the sky is blue, they just know it is.

  • man I just wanted to stare at the wall because you told me to :)

  • God is however the beliver percieves him/her/it to be.
