Most all the parts are off of an old craftsman ridim mower. I fabricated a new axle out of tubing and used the old spindles of the mower since the wheels are going to be used too.

are you going to run another steering linkage to the other tire or just trust the one side? I had a buddy do the same thing you did, and his broke and caused him to flip and break an arm.

@smithcycles It's designed just like a auto's steering so it should be OK. Plus, the Kart is going to only go about 10 miles per hour or so, same speed as the riding lawnmower went. And, its got a roll cage....

@davi200 Looks really well built just one thing, won't it slip at the end of the shaft where the plate is between those two nuts and lock washer? Lot of pressure on that to turn and push the tie rods.

@ModelKarKid Hmmm. That is a good point. If it does start to slip, I could weld it in place. I chose not to do that because as it is now fabricated the entire steering shaft is removeable. Don't know why I would need to ever remove it, but you never know....
