I just discovered this video and congratulate you on an excellent series of videos on swamp funk guitar. The phrasing, timing, tone and inventiveness of this performance are all top notch. Thanks for posting and for the clear explanation of what you are doing.

i was just bitching at our lead guitarist that everyone plays blues in a.... it doesnt make you a lead player if thats all you can do... try a major or minor once in awhile. he looked at me like he was a stop sign with go written on it. dumb ass.

You're a dumbass for what amounts to basically objecting to intelligent thought towards something artistic.
You'd be surprised how many funk, R&B and blues musicians actually knew a LOT about music theory and techniques.
They weren't all inbred idiots with missing teeth and god given musical abilities.
