She is not like the common singers, she's a real individual. A great person and she has a lovely voice. I really wanna see her live.

Everyone's perfectly entitled to their opinion but i would suggest that people don't try to judge this cover just from hearing it on youtube. Emotions don't really translate quite as well as they do live. Maybe if it you saw it live it would sound better? Just something to bear in my mind, i'm a big amanda palmer fan but would admit that this is not my favourite song of hers, might just be the fact that it's a compressed audio file, played through laptop speakers.

@wigarmy Obviously it is her version of a cover as she is covering it, and it is different to the Iron and Wine version. Notice that A)She is a female singer as opposed to the male vocalist from Iron and Wine. B)She's playing piano, as opposed to iron and wine who cover this song on guitar... need I continue? As for her level of talent, she is an amazing live and recording artist who Is popular amongst her peers in the industry. Do you have any musical releases others can judge you on?

So like all of my favorite bands keep covering this song. I like the more upbeat rendition that Streetlight Manifesto did, but this song lends itself well to a slow rendition.

@Lordofthetomatos Oh man, I did see her live as the Dresden Dolls in Prov RI Lupos in 05. She's amazing I love her, her passion is lovely and so so moving.

Hey lord, you won't be disappointed. She is wonderful live, and for me, this cover is wonderful too. Her songs aren't perfect, but I like it that way; she knows when to leave technical perfection to one side and let character and emotion shine through.

I think that Amanda's cover of this amazing is differnet from the original but still amazingly beautiful (as everything she does seems to be). It is maybe lacking the immediate charm of the original Postal Service version but I think that this one has more feeling behind it and more raw emotion.

I completely agree. Amanda is an incredible and talented performer. She does a brilliant job with this piece. I love that woman! She brightens my life :)

Great thing about this world is everyone is entitled to their opinion and I try to respect everyone's opinion. I have never heard Amanda do a bad song. I LOVE this version of this song. I think the "tired" sound that the piano brings out in it. To me it just gives the song a whole new emotional pull. It's like every word is filled with such emotion that it might burst. I Love Amanda Palmer and, in my opinion, I don't think she is capable of performing badly, no matter the song.
