Megaman 5 was such a great game... I remember being annoyed when critics commented on how 5 was just a repeat of the older games, when in reality I think 5 was super polished and had a lot of cool new innovations (Gravity Man's stage for example was incredibly innovative and inspired a lot of games afterwards).

Because it's nostalgic and old school. It has a charm that is destroyed when trying to make it sound "better". I always loved the original Mega Man series, and the music is part of the deal. It brings back good ol' memories, and frankly, the original soundtracks sounds extremely cool even today. They don't make game music the way they used to anymore. Hehehe.
