Scientology is a dangerous cult, but when it comes to psychiatry and their use of medications, I think that can be equally dangerous. I believe a person would do far better to look for alternatives like 12 step programs, counseling, exercise, hobbies, healthier diets, etc.

If the CCHR were helping people to make an unbiased and informed decision about what to do if they feel they need help then it would be a good thing, instead what they are trying to do is brand all psychiatry as bad and dangerous, they focus on drugs and ECT both of which have evolved over the years and will continue to evolve with research, ECT is now a valuable tool in the treatment of servere depression and the drugs we have today are better than those we had before, all medicine is evolving
