Rick Burgess - A Father's Heart part 3

Rick Burgess, of the Rick & Bubba Show, took the opportunity to speak at the memorial service for his son William Bronner Burgess (also known as Cornbread on the show). Bronner had accidentally drowned in the swimming pool at their house. I love Oxford High School more than anyone else I've ever met in my lifetime, I've seen state championships for my school an coached kids to state championships, and I thought that would be my proudest moment as an Oxford alumni, but it wasn't. I lost my mom in oct 07 from cancer. i was feeling so down i was missing her so much feeling so sorry for myself and your testimony made me wake up and realize that my mom is in heaven and she did not die in vain because your whole family is in church and we see the power of Jesus. When we face adversity like this, the world calls it something like backbone or courage. GOD is really showing His infinite love for each one of us and reminding us that He sees all and will do ALL He can to bring us into His Kingdom. My father and brother died unexpectedly by terrible means; twenty years later and almost five years ago, my oldest son named after me and my earthly father died in His sleep. We can all join them IF we listen to the truth in Romans 10:9-10. Heed the call.

Ricky, Sheri and children. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I too have been right were you are. I lost a son. I too spoke at his funeral. I immediately knew I had to stand and bear my testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. It is not easy and the road is long. This has charged my heart with renewed conviction to share the gospel and to continue on doing what the Lord would have me do in this life to praise and honor him. Hold on brother and sister hold on.
