UPDATE!! We have had several people go down and visit the man in Gardena with the 50 cats to assess the situation. It seems like the cats population has only grown in the past couple of years and he started out with only a couple cats. Seems like this is a perfect example on how spaying and neutering is so important!!! The man does seem to not be entirely "with it" and these sweet cats definitely need to get out ASAP for lack of proper care and so that they don't become impounded to Carson Shelter.

A WELL MEANING 80 YR OLD MAN IN GARDENA HAS ABOUT 50 FRIENDLY, ADOPTABLE CATS IN HIS HOME THAT ARE ABSOLUTELY DESPERATE FOR FOSTER / FOREVER HOMES BEFORE CARSON SHELTER IMPOUNDS THEM THIS COMING WEEK.

MANY OF THEM ARE BLACK CATS, WHO WILL DIE BEFORE THEY'RE ADOPTED. ALL OF THEM ARE SWEET, BEAUTIFUL AND DESPERATE FOR ATTENTION. THEY THEY ALL APPEAR TO BE HEALTHY.

WE LITERALLY HAVE JUST DAYS BEFORE ANIMAL CONTROL TAKES THESE CATS FROM THIS MAN. I WANT TO GET THEM OUT OF THERE BEFORE THIS HAPPENS. I NEED PLACES TO PUT THESE BABIES, AND PEOPLE WILLING TO DONATE TO THEIR VETTING.

WE WiLL BE BRINGING THEM FOOD, LITTER & BOXES AS OFTEN AS WE CAN BETWEEN NOW & THE TIME THE CATS ARE REMOVED.

PLEASE HELP ME NETWORK THESE POOR CATS. THANK YOU!

Here's how you can help.

You can make a tax-deductible donation through Stray Cat Alliance (straycatalliance.org), just designate CARSON CATS.

If you can help in a physical way, please contact Cyndi at cdzacko @ gmail.com or Cheryl Ann @ seekdivinetruth@gmail.com

  • I have a cat colony too because I feed them. Three years ago the colony was growing too fast. I called "Friends Of Animals" in our home town and was shown how to set up the traps. I caught 14, all were neutered and all were returned safe and sound within a week. Ferals kill other wildlife too, squirrels, chipmucks, rabbits, and yes even birds, lots of bird kills. The colony is downsized to about 9 now. A ferals lifespan isn't more than 3-4 years as far as I can tell. That's my story.

  • @Aetopus Thanks for being a friend to the cats. By fixing those 14 you saved literally hundreds of thousands of lives! My rescue groups manage hundreds of colonies here in L.A. We are actually going back to this house this weekend to get the last of these cats out. We placed 20 of them in forever homes and have 20 more to go. On a completely different subject, it looks like you have an amazing collection of videos here. I will be back Sunday night to enjoy them. Namaste

  • It's obvious the gentleman ha a good heart but just doesn't understand, is ignorant of cat's true needs. Or, if he is a true hoarder, and collects cats, that is a mental illness. I mean, I care here about the cats, only, but will not blast this guy for loving kitties. It's obvious he did not set out to take in 50 cats to trash their lives on purpose. He just didn't know. There is a lot of suffering going on there. So sad.

  • someone drop off 50 bowls!

  • I think it is a very unfair statement to make that this gentleman should face a fine. With all that is going on with the economy and foreclosures, I have a feeling this gentleman might have taken in cats who were left behind by their irresponsible owners. While I am concerned about the kitties, what is going to happen to this gentleman? I mean part of the title of the video is eviction. Is he going to be living out on the streets?

  • What a fine looking bunch of cats. I hope the shelter in Gardena demonstrates some integrity and compassion by letting volunteers neuter and place these cats. No homeless cat should ever be killed. I think this gentleman should pay to have these cats placed into loving homes. A generous donation or stiff fine on his end should take care of the expenses.
