@12valvepower That's what the new Trabi needs, instead of that sewing-machine motor that's in it- a Sachs rotary!

The car came out in 1967. It was 20 years ahead in looks. A pity they never developed the Wankel fully giving it a bad name. There was a Ford V4 engine conversion kit for this car.
Is the exhaust holed? Lots of noise.

@douro20 youre talkin rubbish....the engine mixes the oil by itself.

It's a handsome car.... I'm amazed that it started and drove.

NSU and Borgward was the finest builders in History ! Klaus Luthe of NSU made the design. NSU goes over to VW/Audi in the beginning of the seventies. But he goes over to design for BMW.

i have quite the respect for nsu, whatever it means in german, they made motocycles and the cool looking world war II tracked three wheeler called the Kettenkrad, volkswagen hade to buy them out... bastards, ugly car i think, but the car has to be the pioneer of wankel rotary powered.

You're really lucky. I thought that rotary engines couldn't resist many time stopped

The engines won't last longer than 50,000-60,000 miles unless you mix oil with the fuel at a ratio of 32:1.
