Let's hope Travis Barker's fans will never discover this video and start comparing Joe with him... :)

  • He's definitely first class on the instrument. We are lucky to have You Tube video to hear and witness his work. He's an inspiration to anyone who knows and cares about drumming.

  • @Easleytee ... i love mel ...especially his touch on ride cymbal ...but Joe`s over all technique and complete mastery of rhythmic subdivisions is on its own level .. especially for that era ..he was really pushing the bounderies of time keeping , technique , odd times , and artificial note groupings

  • What I love most about Joe is he plays with so much attention to the melody and song. He's one of the few drummers I love to hear solo bcuz his solos have relevance to the music he's playing. So many drum solos I find are a frivolous exhibition of cliches. I hear him referencing the melody whether he is stating it or just implying it. Joe is always playing music in a truly artful way.He will always be one of my faves. Will always miss him. Learned so much from his instructional youtube vids.

  • Awessooommme

  • joe morello and buddy rich. . . . nobody can touch them . drumming gods

  • Joe Morello,s playing, his technical skills are superb. His kit is properly tuned, you can hear the tom toms!A lot of drummers tom toms sound like wet cardboard. Drums are made to "ring",and not to dampen with dusters/ felt.Greatest drummer, Buddy Rich.

  • Mel Lewis is a far superior player with less recognition.

  • really nice sound too.

  • Nagy példaképem volt és lesz is.Legyen neki könnyű a föld.
