Best quote. "I just decided. I think I'm going to give up digital photography and go back to Kodachrome"

Not necessary, i used have a little thingy that got the tip out of my exposed film. If i skipped it trough to the first unexposed frame (wrote it down) i could load and unload them endlessly.

Used to call it a 'filmlikker' (thats dutch), not sure what it is in english

Beautiful work, but I think using the last roll of kodachrome for the normal type of photographs in the same locations mccurry's been taking his whole career kind of reduced the rolls significance

Kodachrome was originally made on 4x5 sheet film, in the 40s, with an ASA (ISO) of 12.

having completely switched to film from digital i find this video very motivational.

btw, i think he shot a few rolls (probably different films). the film was originally loaded into an f6 and some photos taken on an f100.

Kodachrome was great emulsion, but not perfect for everything due to the higher contrast. But when suited it was unmatched in it's beauty. Too bad it was never made on anything bigger than 35mm. On the right subject Kodachrome + Ciba prints... Man, I am still to see something like that.

True, but there was a polaroid. At least for advertising type of jobs. On 35mm it was mostly experience or many exposures. Or B/W was sooo forgiving, especially when pushed.
