After being introduced two years ago, the Dean Forest Railway changed their February services from heritage DMU to steam hauled, and to start the new 2011 running season resident 'Pannier Tank' number 9681 was in operation hauling a rake of four chocolate and cream coaches. In this video we see the 1949 built loco going about her duties of the day.

With thanks to jamielw143 for company and Keirran Copley (9681's fireman).

I know this isn't the greatest footage I've captured, but I think it was worth uploading.

  • I like that 'Yes I know I fail :( Haha'. Without funny comments these viseo's start to get a bit 'Samey'!

  • @SPD1E haha yeah I know what you mean. Thanks :)

  • In a month or two Josh, many of those locations will be obscuring the trains, so well done for capturing them now, and well done to the FOD for opening so soon in the year...Bob

  • @robmasterman Thank you Bob, thats pretty much why I chose to go because of the lack of vegetation around at this time of year. Hopefully it will be repeated again next year.

  • Good Good :D

  • @ThomastheE2engine that hole at the rear of the cab is there for extra ventilation also, also extra light into the cab we also use it so we can access the bunker so we can pull coal down from either side of the bunker. ta
