No Thetans in the Champagne Room

The scam at the heart of the cult of scientology is to keep leading the "mark" or victim on, and if the mark is dissatisfied or frustrated make sure the sucker feels that they are responsible, not the cult which promises but cannot, nor will ever, deliver.

There are no OTs, there are no Clears and the structure of the con known as the cult of scientology reminded me of the old scams at girlie shows and freak shows at carnivals in the middle of last century, a technique used by strippers today to pry all the money they can from their own marks.

There is neither sex nor super powers in the Champagne Room.

The videos of 1950s burlesque are in the Public Domain. And don't fret- you see much much more at a beach here in the 21st century. A girlie show needs girls, now, doesn't it?

Thanks. Understanding cons and subcultures that use them has always been an interest, and the more one looks at the structure of the cult, the more one sees that it is set up just like a con, and uses the same sort of methds. People fall for the scam of scientology, just as they fall for the Nigerian Prince email scam and often for the same underlying motivations. The more people know, though, the fewer that will fall for this harmful garbage that is the cult.

You can't argue with the truth, It's hard to believe there are still a few people out there trying to pretend Scientology is a religion. At least Australia is finally waking up to the cult, hopefully the United States will be next.
