@BetaArtemis You're quite right. I just finished re-watching season 8 last night and it was strange how Jack ALMOST turned into what Tony had become in season 7. In his desire for revenge he was prepared to kill an international leader and risk starting a war that would inevitably affect civilians. It was only because of Chloe, who managed to talk Jack out of it, that he didn't.

Not yet... but there have only been like 7 episodes so far. I personally don't really think he should be in season 8 though. Maybe briefly. It would just seem a bit redundant and I like how they are keeping it fresh. I love Tony don't get me wrong. It would be cool if he came back in as a good guy in season 9 or 10. If they have a 9 or 10.

Yet Jack had been consumed by revenge before. He killed Nina, he killed the man who shot Palmer, he killed Henderson, all in cold blood because of revenge. The only difference was that Jack's actions were spur of the moment and had no risk to civilians and Tony's were a plan 4 years in the making to get to Alan Wilson.
At the core, both are two men driven by revenge and anger, difference is, someone was there to tell Jack when to stop, but no one was there for Tony.

Carlos Bernard... Great actor. I don't think he gets near enough recognition.
I agree with some of the others: Tony Almeida is too important of a character to have a lack-luster departure. I have no doubt that we'll see him in Season 8.
