"Way Alive in 65'...!!!

This is an AMAZING show! And for '65! Think about it--the Beatles had just recorded "Help" in the studio a couple of weeks earlier. "Ticket to Ride" and "Yes it Is" were some of the songs playing on pop radio. Bob Dylan was still a few months away from recording "Like a Rolling Stone"
Here's Wes in Hamburg playing on a completely different level with a great band! I love the informality of this show...go see the other clips of this show.

He quotes Bill Jennings' solo from "Honkey Tonk".

Wait- is that a hat or a hair piece?
-
Hamburg like a motherfucker!

'West Coast Blues', an original by Wes himself ("The Incredible jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery' - Riverside).
-
Ronnie Stephenson was in Europe in 1965 with Wes. I'm pretty sure that it is him.

I love that tune Wes plays before they start.
