This is a video fo the All-Time World record clean and jerk Weight. It was actually a no lift, but he did all the hard work. The official record is the same weight for Leonid Taranenko but at a much higher bodyweight. I believe Kurlovich was only weighing around 125-130 kgs for this attempt.

I have personally met and spoken briefly with Alexsandr Kurlovich when I competed at the European Youth weightlifting championships at the Magic Sunrise Hotel, Eilat, Israel back in 2009. In my opinion the ultimate super-heavyweight lifter... based on his lift performance and sinclair rankings - achieving some of the biggest lifts of all time in both the Snatch and clean and Jerk lifts, despite the relative lacking in bodyweight to some of the bigger lifters. Take NOTHING away from Hossein Rezazadeh or Leonid Tarenenko though. There have been many excellent superheavyweights.

Since a lot of people have asked - Kurlovich has a best back squat of 350 kgs.

His sinclair for the competition was (or would have been) roughly 492: Which in sinclair terms makes him second only to the great Naim Suleymanoglu
I assume he did a 212.5 or 215 kg snatch? I think he was very unlucky - particually so with the clean and jerk, on more than one occasion he had lifted in excess of 260 kgs but due to a problem with his right arm lock and stability.

This Video is from the 1987 World weightlifting championships where kurlovich clean and jerked over double his bodyweight.

  • @EndlersaurusRex Good for them, not all of us can get away with it though. I know from experience.

  • @clarkdef Chigisev and Klokov are two of the best snatchers in their categories every and both can bench a ton.

  • @Kensomniac Perhaps he wasn't clear enough. I'm not going to speak for him, but I think he meant to say ALL olympic level weightlifters juice. As far as suits go, everyone should wear a suit for safety reasons. Olympic style weightlifting is very dangerous are if it's going to be done, it should be done with as many safety precautions as possible.

  • @themythicalbeast love that song :D

  • @mikeyburger1 Hey wtf is a back squat dumb ass.

    It is a normal squat.

  • STERIODSSS!!!!

    HE LOOKS UN-NATURAL YA'LLLL

  • benchpressing is not a good idea for weightlifters, it adds too much shoulder mass which makes snatching very difficult. Just ask large powerlifters that have tried to make the transistion

  • hmm im 15 and i think i want to wrestle him

  • @Kensomniac im the same,im a powerlifter and dont take juice even tho everyone assumes if u lift over 200kg ur a juicer, its unfair but the world we live in,lot of ignorance out there mate.plus ppl put u by there own genetic limitations, sometimes, bieng gifted is like a curse!!lol

  • @PanjabiWarrior - all weightlifters juice? Fuck you, my friend... I haven't touched any "juice" in my career.. I lift completely raw, too... I guess for weightlifters that have no natural ability, juice and suits are the way to go.. for the rest of us.. we lift on our own power.
