@johndough08g- FDR had to justify giving Eastern Europe to Russia. But the Allies had no choice. Stalin was insane so you couldn't negotiate. Russia had the largest army in the world. Fighting Russia to drive them out of Eastern Europe would have seen a back and forth war that would have killed millions more. And America had Japan to deal with in the Pacific theater that kept getting bloodier and more brutal against a country that didn't believe in surrender.

Roosevelt was an idiot ! Hoping European influence would change the brutality of Russian dominance in parts of Europe in 10-20 years; wtf ?
