The Sands Casino Hotel took its final bow tonight, taking center stage after a long run of 26 years. A shining star on the boardwalk of dreams in the lavish casino town that is Atlantic City, her timely exit marks the end of a golden era in casino gaming here in New jersey and the start of an entirely new one. She will be missed, but her legacy will be remembered by all who knew her when.

  • wow I really love how you got such a close shot of the Sands. You captured great footage of this event. I was on the beach, pretty much center of the Sands when I shot my video... the fireworks seem like they appear better from the angle you were at). Great video!!

  • Thank you very much. It was quite a spectacle! I don't think this is going to be the last implosion we will see in Atlantic City. Pinnacle's implosion of the Sands, I think, is going to be the start of a renaissance period of development in this town. Take care, look for more videos here sometime!

  • @solbrthr HOW LONG DID THE IMPLOSION LAST

  • OMG, i walked right past that brick building next to the sands! i had no idea that a hotel used to be there!

  • what camera was this recorded with?

  • Great video, nicely done.

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! RIO STONE.

  • Funny thing is...the Borgata is basically running everything over!! I stayed at The Trump marina last week..and basically spent all my gambling time at the Borg LOL

  • Wow, great video, though it's sad to watch, I had some awesome times at the sands with my late sister Cynthia,

We both liked the Epic Buffet and Rossi's Gourmet Italian Dining as it was called. I still have a matchbook from Rossi's .

When you call the phone number (609) 441-4000 you now get Pinnacle.

  • You Tube TEST time folks!Finish this saying correctly concerning the video you just saw; "We just saw The Sands get blown into the ---------."

  • Must of been pretty windy judging by the comets and the smoke from the boxes firing.

  • Great video. Mine was such a bad quality.
