  • I like your version...just a couple of points though, if you don't mind! This is a Bob Wills song (written by him or his father, can't remember which). And, to me anyway, those aren't the original nor the best lyrics. The original lyrics are in the next comment.

    Great job though...awesome fiddling!

  • Hey thanks, and thank you for your suggestions... true it's by Bob Wills, I guess Hank Thompson is the guy I relate to this song (my dad used to see his band play in Denver).

  • Let us all light a candle.

  • wow ... I love this,Great job hope to hear more ....

  • great! nice fiddling, singing, and guitaring!

  • It is always delightful to hear someone from another country interpret this old Bob Wills song. You did a good job.

  • No problem...I grew up with my mom playing it, lol. The records, I mean. I've seen the lyrics you used printed elsewhere, and perhaps it bugs me because I am used to the original, I don't know...but to me they flow better. I believe that Bob's dad used to play the tune and bob added the words (I think)

  • Twilight falls, Ev'ning shadows find

There beneath the stars, A maiden so fair divine.

The moon on high, seems to see her there.

In her eyes is a light, shining ever so bright,

as she whispers a silent prayer.

Ev'ry word revealed an empty broken heart

Broken by fate that holds them so far apart

Lonely there she kneels and tells the stars above

In her arms he belongs, in her prayer is a song

    Her unending song of love.
