To throw it i have the holes face towards the batter. I put my thumb in the center of the holes on that little bump and my other 4 fingertips on the back of the ball. I throw it just like a regular pitch but when I release the ball i put a little forward rotation to counteract the natural reverse rotation off your fingers. I try to get the holes to face forward the whole way to the batter. I aim for the center of the strike zone and depending on the wind hope for the best.
