As a brown-skinned American, the TSA has always been professional and courteous in my experiences. The passengers and American people, on the other hand can sometimes be racist scum. The TSA messed up, but it seems like a pretty isolated incident.

Why should this play any role? I've learned those words in every language I know - how can flash cards play any role. And c'mon - look at the questions the officers asked: 'What language does Ben Laden speak?' and 'Are you a communist?' - how can this not scream 'retard'? And sure Sudan is a rather strange place to visit but Jordan and Egypt - how much more touristy can it get?

maybe part of the problem lies in the fact that security enforcement is a blue collar job - not necessarily demanding common sense, or logic, but rather a simple GED or highschool diploma.

truly important jobs in America, such as police officers, teachers and and other 'agents of our best interest' - are under payed and under appreciated and generally disrespected by our culture. why do you think such schmucks often fill these positions? its a shame.
