WE WANTED TO MAKE A FILM THAT WOULD EXPLORE THIS HUGE POPULAR MOVEMENT IN A WAY THAT EXCITED US, ENGAGED US, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, FOCUSSED ON WHAT WE KNOW TO BE THE POSITIVE AND OPTIMISTIC VISION MANY FILESHARERS AND ARTISTS (THEY ARE OFTEN ONE) HAVE FOR THE FUTURE OF CREATIVITY.

My wife lost her job at BlockBuster because they are not making money ... So don't say people don't loose jobs... They shut down over 200 BlockBuster stores ... so ya people are loosing jobs ...

@maw88ify Not saying it didn't. But I can tell you this, for certain, and this is pure fact - I've seen three to four times as many movies in the theaters since I personally started pirating movies. I never used to go, and I used to have a hell of a lot more disposable income before. Now I find ways to go because I want to see shit in the theater as soon as it comes out. Because I've been watching movies more.

I just wanted to make sure you didn't blame pirating exclusively.

btw... Just because I can download for free doesn't mean I don't still go to the theaters and rent movies. So the film industry isn't even giving away all their products for free anyway.

I feel much happier knowing that the idiots at hollywood will be going jobless because of piratebay. Over the years they've accumulated ridiculous amounts of money making the most inane and brainless movies imaginable - money got from people who have been seduced by their elaborate marketing gimmicks and money that could have been spent to better effect elsewhere. And also what about all the independent and low-budget film-makers hollywood has driven out of business over the years?

@maw88ify Its much like the Automobile and Passenger Plane made the Passenger Train and Ship obsolete. Its evolution and if you can't foresee changes coming and you dig your heels in the dirt refusing to adapt to a changing of the guard then its the stubbornness of companies that hurt themselves. They feel a divine right to hold their place in line of the food chain and the world doesn't work like that. Maybe Ford and Boeing should be paying Amtrak.

Dont get me wrong ,I love the movie industry..but not to the degree that I will go out off my way to pay for their products when I can watch a HD version of their work for free in a few moments..it always comes down to the bottom line..and when it does numero uno wins out..This battle is lost,now its up to them to monetize this somehow or die slowly..solutions like netflix etc is a good start but they need more titles.

I think its bullshit the girl said she doesnt want to give them any money and doesnt want to support them. You're obviously downloading these peoples hard work. So it does interest you. Im all for piratebay, i love it and use it. But i also reward good work, i dont mind purchasing a movie or a bands cd if its great. I rent new releases and i rent regular movies 3-4 times a week.
