This video shows some actions made using a multitouch capable tablet.
These actions are handled natively by the new Linux kernel 2.6.30 meaning that you can now produce the same effects shown in proprietary systems.

  • it's kubuntu isn't it ? ?

    which version ?

which tablet did u use ?

do have a link or so ?

  • @MisterPubichair this is an old video.

    Look at ubuntu maverick video.

Many tablets are supported or being supported now :

    ntrig, magic trackpad, wacom etc...

  • Looks kinda slow?

0:42 looks so slow, while resizing/rotating that image later looks rather smooth.

I hoope this will be good :>

  • being slow on 0:42 is only because of animation parameter set a bit more than it should be.

It is then modified to get fast zoom/rotate.

  • @Frap357

    :))))

  • @Crouton351 oh, of course not, you'll just have to reverse engineer whole hardware to write proper drivers, but who cares, way to go, Gentoo!

  • Would it be so hard to get an iPad, jailbreak it, and install Gentoo on it?

  • @Frap357 those both compnies did that you know..... and also he plugged in something to his computer thats why the lunux iss doing that

  • check out my Linux channel people! nothing but Linux and Opensource Goodness! :)

  • @tdomhan: Today X11 and Xorg-server had to be upgraded, that's what was needed. :p So when X11 reaches 7,6 and Xorg-server is at 1.8.1 you will have actual multi-pointer/multi-touch support. Imagine a game like original Serious Sam 1. Split-Screen PC game. Two mouses(or wiimotes) one for each player LOL.

  • Ohhh snap!
