I make some comments that came to mind after watching Gimmeabreakman's video. His video was 20 minutes long so I didn't hit all the points in my response. Also I apologize for digressing so much, that's just how it goes when I wing it.

  • i dont know if that's entirely true. my parents are from iran and i was born in the states. i could say im american, but i think when people ask me "what are you?", they're looking more for my ethnicity, which is persian. this doesnt happen so much with people of european orgins.

  • Well we are both right, let me explain further. You are an American, from Iranian decent. So really in that question you could answer whatever you preferred. It may also come down to how many generations a family has been in a particular country.

Using Canada you can see on a census that 30% of people call themselves Canadian (aka mutts like myself) and it then subdivides to chinese, black, ukranian, etc. It also probably has to do a lot with if your family continues using traditions.

  • i choked up blood at the "but do look good" part

  • Did you smoke weed before making this you sound high lol xD

  • I have thick skin either way! Maybe it's my Canadian accent that people on youtube seem to think exists.

  • please dont think i dont like it.

  • Gaijin means foreigner, including other Asians. In terms of other Asian foreigners I would agree that there is more racism due to age old history in the region. What you mentioned is already happening in the UK. Borders are shrinking, people need to get used to living with everyone else.

  • One reason you do not feel that racism is very prevaent in Japan is because you are a Gaijin as I stated before. You might feel in a different way if you are an Asian foreigner who came to Japan for a financial oppotunity. Though even that case is not very prevalent now, eventully it will be when Japan gets much more immigrant from other Asian countries for labor shortage. I think It will be like Europe getting lots of non White immigrants. And I really hope it's not going to be too ugly.
