PorchChase, WalMart, Burleson, TX, 8/1/09: LOUD Thunder

If you see the lightning and hear the thunder, it missed you. That's what they say, anyway.

At Burleson's WalMart when a storm popped up. Decided to chase from the entrance. Watch at :09 - you will see a tiny bolt in the upper right hand corner of the video. Missed the main strike (leave it to me), which hit in the parking lot. :eek: The thundercrack was nearly instantaneous. And loud?!? 'Bout had a runnin' fit standing in place. Twin sis screamed. LOL

It WAS scary, especially watching the black clouds roll in, and then the lightning - wasn't leaving until it was all clear. TRUST me on that. I really try to stay safe. =] Having no car to run to, and walking on a cane, have to be as careful as I can. =] Thanks for all the great comments on my videos and especially the one on my channel - appreciate it. Nature nothing to mess with, especially lightning! But I love it so - take care!

It did strike in the parking lot - I just missed the main bolt, standing in the entrance like I was. Caught a stepped leader, though, and THAT was cool! Thanks for watching and commenting, SevereTStormFan! =]
