@EL3679 technicaly drummers were combatants, in the british army some were even given muskets if short of men. but i wasnt asking why r they in red i was asking why their turnbacks changed from white with blue hearts to blue with red. and their drums seem to have been switched to a more british fashion with red hoops, and white ears. which wouldnt have really been seen as often in the continental army.

The red with blue facings in the opposite of the regular continental army. It was to show the opposing side that they were non-combatants. The fifes and drums were the walkie talkie of the 18th century. They were important and wore the regimentals like that to protect themselves.

did they change their uniforms and drums? cause the drums look somewhat british

Yeah, it is a lot crisper in real-life. There are a lot of qualities (that crispness, and the way directors use location and direction to manipulate the sounds) that just don't transfer well to even a very good quality video. Ya just have to be there. I had not been exposed to fife & drum sounds; this group was a very pleasant and impressive surprise for me Well done.
the sound is really bad on this video. The fifes sound ok, but in real life the drummers are a ton crisper.
